A model and actress of Czech and American descent, Paulina Porizkova has an estimated net worth of $10 million. After Ric Ocasek, her longtime husband passed away in 2019, it was discovered that Paulina was not mentioned in the musician’s will. Apparently, she was forced to borrow money from friends and family following Ric’s death due to her lack of liquid assets.

Among the $5 million in copyrighted intellectual property that Ric left behind in his will was his claim that Paulina had deserted him. Although Paulina was once one of the highest-paid models in the early 1990s, earning tens of millions of dollars in a single year, many felt Ric was the richer of the two.

He died leaving her with two mortgages and a pension but no additional assets or income to pay the bills regularly. She was finally forced to sell the Manhattan townhouse they had lived in for more than 30 years for $10 million because of financial difficulties. In upstate New York, she owns a home.

Personal Life

Paulina Porizkova married Ric Ocasek, a musician, in 1989. At the time, she was 24 years old. When she was 19, he recruited her to appear in a music video for The Cars’ song “Drive.” That’s how they first met. It was Ric’s first marriage when this took place. He married Paulina in 1989 after divorcing his first wife in 1988. Despite the fact that they had been “peacefully separated” since May 2018, Ric and Paulina remained legally married until his death in 2019. On September 15, 2019, 75-year-old Ric Ocasek died.

They spent $2.5 million in 1989 for a 6,000-square-foot New York City mansion for Ric and Paulina. They placed the townhouse up for sale in January 2019 for $15.3 million. Paulina agreed to sell the house for $10 million after Ric’s death.

For $650,000 in 1997, the couple also bought and shared a 5.5-acre rural estate in Millbrook, NY, some 90 miles north of New York City. Paulina is the only owner of this property.

Early Life

Paulina Porizkova was raised away from home in Prostejov, Czech Republic, for much of her youth. The Warsaw Pact Invasion forced them to flee, but she remained behind to be cared about by her grandmother. It took seven years for the government to allow her to leave the country to be with them, but she was reunited with them in the end.

A modelling agency discovered Porizkova at the age of 13 and signed her up for work. She submitted photos of herself and other friends’ painted faces to modelling agencies in Paris since one of her pals aspired to be a cosmetic artist.
