Personal Life
Her personal life included a relationship with “Dawson’s Creek” co-star Joshua Jackson, and an engagement to actor Christ Klein from late 2003 until early 2005.
She began dating actor Tom Cruise in April 2005, and they had a daughter, Suri, in April 2006. At Bracciano, Italy, they tied the knot towards the end of 2006.
Her six-year-old daughter, who had previously been home-schooled, will begin public schooling in New York City when she filed for divorce from Cruise in the summer of 2012.
In the wake of her divorce from Cruise, Holmes, who had studied Scientology during their courtship in 2005, reverted to her Catholic faith. St. Francis Xavier Church is where she presently goes. Early Life and Professional Career
On December 18, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio, Kate Noelle Holmes was born. Father Martin Joseph, who practiced law, is her mother’s primary caregiver. She is the youngest of five children, with three sisters and a brother.
In 1996, Holmes competed in the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) Competition in New York City when she was only fourteen years old.
A casting director for “The Ice Storm” saw her audition video after she read a monologue from “To Kill a Mockingbird” (1997). She made her big-screen début with Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver in this film.
As her career was only beginning, Holmes flew to Los Angeles in January 1997 for the pilot season, during which time producers cast and shoot new series.
She apparently turned down a role in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” in order to finish high school. Also, Columbia TriStar Television, which was working on a new show called “Dawson’s Creek,” urged her into moving to Los Angeles.
Due to her involvement in a school production of “Damn Yankees,” Holmes had to reschedule her trip. After getting permission to audition via camera, she read for the role of Joey Potter, the eponymous character Dawson’s best friend, and was eventually cast in the role.
Various Other Projects
Along with her work as a performer, Holmes has appeared in commercials and advertising for a variety of brands, including Gap, Coach, and Garnier Lumia’s hair color. Ann Taylor’s Spring 2011 collection included her as the brand ambassador 2011, while Bobbi Brown Cosmetics chose her as their face in 2013.
Holmes & Yang, a high-end clothing business, was co-founded by her and stylist Jeanne Yang in 2008. They made their New York Fashion Week debut in September 2012 with their first collection.

Settlement of Divorce Case
When Tom and Katie tied the knot in 2006, it lasted till 2012. In the course of their relationship, they had a daughter named Suri. While Katie had a net worth of about $10 million, her husband Tom had a net worth of $250 million.
When it came to protecting his assets, Tom insisted on a solid prenuptial agreement. Because of the terms of their divorce, Tom must pay Katie $400,000 a year in child support for the next 12 years (until the year 2024).
After everything is said and done, it amounts to $33,000 a month, or $4.8 million in total. Tom is responsible for Suri’s medical, educational, insurance, and extracurricular expenses.
Suri is solely in the care of Katie, who has chosen not to subject her to the religious influences of the Scientology cult.
